Arthur B. Thompson, 83, of 4700 13th Ave. S, died Sunday (Dec. 12, 1976). He came here 16 years ago from Averill park, N.Y. He was a retired spinning mill repairman; a veteran of World War I; and a Protestant. Survivors include his wife Armenta; a stepson, Clayton Hall, Gulfport; and a brother and sister in Vermont. Charles H. Trudeau
Charles H. Trudeau, 74, of Loop Road, a retired variety store owner. died Sunday in North Adams Regional Hospital.
He owned and operated Val's Variety Store from 1959 until his retirement in 1981. He and a partner, Valmore Paquette, operated the store from 1952 to 1959.
As a young man he worked with his father in his store on Holbrook Street in North Adams until his father died in 1944. He operated that store until 1952.
Born in North Adams, he attended Notre Dame Grammer School and graduated from Drury High School in 1935. From 1937 to 1943 he had a dance band called Charlie Trudeau's Band.
He leaves his wife, the former Eleanor Dion; two daughters, Charline Brassard of Cheshire and Carol Trudeau of Florida, Mass.; two brothers. Edmund of Williamstown and Lawrence of Great Barrington; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be Tuesday morning from Notre Dame Church, with burial in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at Trottier-Pringle Funeral Home are this afternoon and evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to Com-Care or to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children through the funeral home.
