GENEVIEVE SPATUZZI Mrs. Genevieve (Jennie) Pietryka Spatuzzi, 48, of 509 Kossuth Ave., a native of Utica, died yesterday in St.Lukes-Memorial Hospital Center after a long illness. She was born April 3, 1913, daughter of Walter and Catherine Jaje Pietryka. She was educated in Utica schools and on Jan 5, 1931, was married to Anthony Spatuzzi in Oneida. He died in Utica on Feb. 6, 1947. Mrs. Spatuzzi was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. She leaves a son, Anthony; three daughters, Mrs. Dominick (Carmelita) Galime, Mrs. Ercole (Patricia) Ventura, and Miss Willinette Spatuzzi; a brother, Stanley Pietryka; two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Mary) Guminiak and Mrs. John (Gladys) Carucci, all of Utica; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 9:30 Thursday from the Scala Funeral Home, 612 Elizabeth St., and at 10 from St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church where a solemn requiem Mass will be offered. She was born in New York Mills, a daughter of Walter and Katharine Jaje Pietryka and attended local schools. In 1934, she married Walter E. Guminiak in New York Mills. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Walter E. Pietryka, Stanley Stanley Pietryka Stanley Pietryka (Patrick), 51. of 716 Whitesboro St., a former truck driver was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Elizabeth Hospital Saturday evening. Dr. Preston Clark, coroner, said death was due to a heart attack. He was born in New York Mills, son of Walter and Katherine Jaje Pietryka. He attended local schools. He had been an employee of the former Globe Woolen Mills and was also a driver for various local trucking concerns. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Mary) Guminiak of Utica and Mrs. John (Gladys) Carucci of Whitesboro. In 1910, he came to this country and the New York Mills. For the past 28 years he had been a resident of Utica. He married Catherine Jaje in St Mary's Church in New York Mills. She died in 1926. In 1937 he married Madeline Piekielniak. Mr. Pietryka was a member of St. Mary's Church, New York Mills. Pike Sr, James M The following item appeared in the Chatham Courier newspaper on October 16, 1906 Another old veteran of the Civil War and respected citizen passed away in the death of James M. Pike that occurred early Tuesday morning at his home in South Berlin from cancer of the liver with which he been affected since spring and confined to his bed about three weeks. Mr. Pike had passed his 78th year and was a native of Vermont born March 20, 1830 at Isle LaMotte, Grand Isle on Lake Champlain. He served nearly four years in the war of the rebellion in Co. B 5th Vt. Infantry Vol., enlisting September 16, 1861 and discharged June 30, 1865 and drew a pension. He was also an honored member of the Little Hoosick Lodge, I.O.O.F. of this place who will officiate at the funeral and burial Thursday. Besides his wife, two sons and three daughters survive, Ellsworth Pike of Cheshire, Mathew Pike of Long Isaland, Mrs. Henry McDonough of South Berlin, Mrs. S. B. Tuesday, September 20 PITTSFIELD - Joseph Patrick Pipp Jr., 83, of 22 Foote Ave. died Sunday at home after a brief illness. Born in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 11, 1921, son of Joseph P. Pipp Sr. and Lorena Colvin Pipp, he attended schools there and earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute in 1943. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army Corps of Engineers and survived a D-Day landing on the beaches of Normandy. After his discharge, Mr. Pipp moved to Pittsfield and was employed by GE in the power transformer department until his retirement in 1984. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, where he served as a eucharistic minister and as director of the Adult Funeral Services. He was also a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and enjoyed reading, gardening, woodworking and walking daily. His wife, the former Priscilla Ann Murray, whom he married Sept. 16, 1950, died Nov. 2, 1999. He leaves three sons, Michael P. Pipp of Duxbury, Kevin J. Pipp of Meadville, Pa., and Timothy J. Pipp of Easthampton; a daughter, Holly A. Donelson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and eight grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral for Joseph P. Pipp Jr., 83, who died Sept. 18, 2005, will be Friday at 10:15 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by the Rev. James K.
